Cue speculation on further projects and speculation about why the split happened. Really?! Speculation about further projects maybe, but I don't think there's much mystery behind the reasons for the split, lots of us have seen it coming for a while, as much as we didn't like to admit it. I think it's as straightforward as it sounds- it was a labour of love but the time has come to move on to other things. I'm pretty sure there's no secret behind it or big event that caused this to happen. I know Paul is, amongst other things I think, drumming live with Scroobius Pip in the next few weeks.

Paul seems to drumming with a million different bands! He's doing stuff with Red Kite as well, another ex-Coopers band.

Too late. Was it any good? Well, I was slightly underwhelmed. If you knew German it was fun because the guy doing the show was really praising PRR as the most influential band of all times (which is the truth, of course!), he said something like "there is no more music now that there's no more PRR" as a conclusion. The actual PRR part of the show was rather short, though, and the only two songs played were LMLR and AVO. The full playlist (in reverse order) was: Pure Reason Revolution – Avo The Postal Service – Be Still My Heart Pendulum – The Tempest Bomba Estÿreo – Cosita Rica Archive – Lines Pure Reason Revolution – Last Man, Last Round The xx – Night Time Breakage – Hardcore Music Pendulum – Showdown Breakage – Open Up Animal Collective – My Girls The Prodigy – Omen So, especially if you don't know any German, you didn't really miss anything.

Good to see these continental DJs know their stuff!

Just come back off holiday and read this. Real tears in my eyes at this point, I'm just utterly gutted. Deeply, deeply saddened by the news, and the thought that there will never be a fourth album is gut wrenching.
They were one of the most exciting and original bands to record in years. The mix of layered vocals and electro and their ear for heart pounding melodies made them legends.
I hope this place will remain, so that we can keep tabs on the members various other activities, but PRR will always have my unending respect and appreciation for what they achieved.
I wish all the members the very best of success in their future endeavours, and maybe they'll each bring some of that PRR magic with them.

I also just got back off holiday and, although I had a feeling this was hanging like a sword of damocles above the band, I'm quite devastated... For the last two and a half years prr was my favourite band by far. I will be in mourning for probably the next couple of days...

Jamie just tweeted this:
"Not a very productive morning but got the hook to the new song I'm writing swirling round my head...need to nail a productive afternoon!"
Nice to read that he's still writing, I wonder how it will be released? Solo career, new band, joining with another group?

(in response to that)I asked him if he plans to do anything with his remixes. Said he might do a mixtape soon.. I'd much rather hear a proper album/ep though.

Yeah, me too. Although a posthumous 'remixes and rarities' release might be pretty cool.

I believe he does remixes for other bands - it's probably work on non-PRR stuff he's talking about.

I just read something that made me happy. In respons to a tweet ( Chloe when do you start making music again? We can't wait to hear from you!!!) Chloe tweeted: As we speak, NIco! 2012 will be an exciting year.
So. Good news eh?
