A cloakroom?! Can tell you're still abroad, BA, back here in Blighty it's sweltering and everybody's sweating like the proverbial [insert own non-PC simile here]...

My mate Alan (coming with me to the Barfly, he's not really heard much PRR before and never been to see them live - hopefully another convert to the cause after Wednesday!) was told that he got the very last Ticket Web ticket when he phoned up their hotline today...

Never believe what you hear Flattering though it is to be listed as 'sold out' on The Barfly website it was not quite true! There are no more tickets at Ticketweb but there are still a few http://www. seetickets. com and there should be a a few more on the door at £10. PRRx.

Hehe, no, its not for a coat but for a bag, as I am at a friend's house in London between now (having not too long landed at Heathrow) and going to Camden later, as it seems crazy to go home... Having said that, I've become accustomed to 36-38 degrees so anything below that is a godsend for me! Rather kind of PRR to have a welcome home gig for me Looking forward to seeing you guys later!

Er, tired and my eyes hurt, but here's a quick summary. I'll do more after I have some sleep if blondeambassador hasn't already beaten me to a more detailed description. Band opened with two new ones (3 in the first 3 if we count Deus as a newby). Opened with the legendary missing track #4 on the Album Sampler: it has a [working] title that's French and I can't remember, BA has better setlist details than me. Absolutely cracking tune, arguably highlight of the night. Then came Apogee (sic?) Of My Love (track #2, still on the Album Sampler), again, sounding really top notch. Deus was next... (more of that later: LITERALLY) Then came Bright Ambassadors and the next few tunes were all Dark Third numbers - all good stuff. Band closed the main set with Gloaming - sounded better than at the Water Rats, as Jamie's guitar was plugged in at an appropriate volume for this performance. To my ear, they've put a slight but noticeable change in the vocals just before the massive synth freakout at the end of the song. Encore consisted of: In Aurelia, Borgens Vor, and... Deus Ex Machina, AGAIN! The band were supposed to close on Intention Craft, but somebody somewhere (naming no names, Mr or Mrs I Know Who It Was) hit the wrong button and the synth track to Deus started playing instead - cue the band looking super-confused, and then thinking "fuck it, we'll play it again anyway!". Jon and Chloe looked like they were having trouble not laughing for the first half of the song, and the rest of the crowd found it funny as well. Easily the most bizarre thing I've seen happen at a PRR gig! Er, that's all I can manage for now, hope it's enough to be going on with. Further updates when my brain starts working again tomorrow (or today, as it now is...)

Good times!
Ha - but how hard is it to stop the pre-recorded track and cue up The Intention Craft, that would take what, like 5 seconds?
Thanks Lawrie

Did anybody bootleg the whole thing? I almost pissed my pants when I realized they might play track 2, 4 or 5 of the sampler at the barfly gig... Mainly 4 & 5, since I was probably the only person here who didn't get to hear them

Basically what Lawrie said...the new stuff is very different, as you might have guessed from the samples, all quite electronic and the band are just finding their feet with it but I personally really liked it all, Jon's voice in particular really shows though on alot of the new stuff and sounds great- their harmonies are awesome all the way through. The set ran well, old mixed with new and it was:
Les Malheurs (very new track) Apogee of My Love (I think, I only know that its definately got apogee in the title!) Deus Ambassadors Victorious Cupid Voices In Winter Twyncyn/Trembling Willows Gloaming
In Aurelia Borgens Deus
Oh, and set came to about 65/70 mins in total which is definately a record for PRR, nice to see them playing a real, full set now!
