Before leaving for work this morning, I was desperately refreshing the download page, hoping to have it on my iPhone for my travels. Now I have to wait until tonight :/
What does Tempest sound like? Is it a guitar/electronic song?

What does Tempest sound like? Is it a guitar/electronic song? It's all you ever wanted it to be! (Honestly, there's absolutely everything in it.)

That's great! I was hoping for a mix of all 3 albums. I'm happy now!

Ok, now for the slightly disappointing details: The "edits" are really just edits. Downloading now... Hey, yeah good innit. Very TDT, but more of the guitar tone from recent records. A lot of what I expected it to sound like, but not in a bad way. Very much a PRR track, but the slightly slower riff then normal is new and it's cool. Heavy. Could be super heavy live. Diggin' it. Oh, and can we have this enbiggened pls powers that be. 'ta

Just grabbed it. Yup, a bit disappointed that the edits really are nothing more than that, but Tempest is a great track. A real blend of old and new PRR, which was surely written to showcase what the band have been about.

I'd be interested to know when it was written actually. Quite TDT in arrangement but H&A in sound.

Tempest = <3, what a fine note to bow out on. In a way it's even more galling to see that the band were still capable of writing such fine music - they had a lot more left to give and the end has come way too soon. Nonetheless, it's a fine parting gift, and stands up as well as anything in the back-catalogue. Oh, and thank the band's management for the following: www.multiupload.com/TWEVO30PKS

Shame about the edits and low quality (192kpbs). But new music from a band who split up a few months ago is bloody awesome. And Gaudete nearly makes up for everything. It all feels so final now no new music, tour nearly over and then this place will practically die...

All the members (to the best of my knowledge) have confirmed that they intend to remain musically active, and there's no place I'd rather be to discuss that. Who knows, with them all releasing solo stuff or joining other groups, there might actually be a lot more to talk about. lol I'm guessing it's too soon to be talking about a reunion tour/album. ;D

That will be Admin's call (and she's currently away) to make though, and I'm sure we'll find out soon enough what plans there are for this place. IMO, it's too early to start talking about future projects: we've all got 1 month left to enjoy Pure Reason Revolution being active, so let's make the most of these last few weeks and see how things are looking after the Heaven show.

Just listened to Tempest. WOW. I'm in love with this song already. Loving the otherworldliness of the guitar and harp. The guitar breakdown part is superb, nice and heavy. As Ryan said, it will sound great live. I do hope they play it at Heaven. <3

However, We are talking about prr here, or at least its component parts. Therefore anything that is going to happen will happen extremely slowly. I'm already firing up my endless patience engines. In other news I'm not a massive fan of Tempest, I like a lot of it but the heavy riff bit is just so out of place, it feels like it's just been crowbarred into the song because they felt there had to be a heavy guitar part somewhere. It ruins the flow. But there are some lovely bits in it, and when I say I'm not a massive fan, I mean that I wouldn't rate it one of my favourite songs of all time, like I would do for about 80% of prr's catalogue, but it's still lovely listening. Some of the unexpected chord-shifts in particular are really cool. Gaudete on the other hand is still sublime beyond belief. Don't know what it is about that song but every time I hear it I'm utterly enchanted. It's now an essential part of my Christmas experience, and I can't listen to the steeleye span version that I use to like anymore.

I'd be interested to know when it was written actually. Quite TDT in arrangement but H&A in sound. Didn't see this. Asked on twitter a few days ago. Apparent;y it was written and recorded all within the last month. It does have quite a "The Twyncyn / Trembling Willows" feel to it, but it definitely feels like a more recent recording too... Interesting.

Jon told me on twitter that he had a lot of fun creating it. I'm hoping that sometime down the line he'll miss writing for PRR and get the guys back together.
