For someone who has made as many posts as you, TDF, the only way there could be a next rank is if you got promoted to being Jon or something...

HA! You make me laugh. Well I can always aspire to be a "Global Moderator"! I'm going on holiday for a long while now, so my post-rate should decline sharply...

Ha ha, yeah, was hoping those shiny purple stars would distract you from the fact that I'm only a few posts behind you, so it's not like I can break your balls for posting so much!

My point wasn't that we should be able to steal whatever we want, you just can't consider a digital album the same as the real thing.
Seriously, who would buy an album without having heard at least 1 song off it? (except if that person is a fan of the band in question) I can't buy an album I haven't heard the whole thing first(with some exceptions).
I just ordered an album of some Montreal post-rock band called DestroyAllDreamers after having heard like 5 free songs they'd put on Last.FM ...
But this is getting pretty off-topic, since we're talking about a live album, that means only the biggest fans will struggle to hear it.

it's a live album.
surely you've heard all the songs before?
just admit it - it's stealing, it's wrong, and no-one on here supports it.

Seriously, who would buy an album without having heard at least 1 song off it? Moi. I bought Muse's Showbiz, The Dears' No Cities Left, Aphex Twin's Richard D James Album, The Beta Band's Hot Shots II, iLiKETRAiNS' Progress Reform, Jeff Buckley's Grace, Sigur Ros' Agaetis Byrjun and UNKLE's Psyence Fiction before I'd heard a note of music from any of those bands, and in every case I'm really glad I bought the album. If you have a particular music reviewer you trust, or someone with similar music tastes to yourself makes you a recommendation, it can be a really good thing to buy an album you're completely unfamiliar with on-spec. I just ordered an album of some Montreal post-rock band called DestroyAllDreamers after having heard like 5 free songs they'd put on Last.FM ... Note that this is NOT the same as stealing a band's work. Legitimate sites that have the necessary permissions to stream bands' songs online are fine, it's a completely different ballpark to places where you can download albums you haven't paid for. My point wasn't that we should be able to steal whatever we want, you just can't consider a digital album the same as the real thing. The bolded part of that sentence is probably the most ridiculous thing I have ever read on these forums.

Right...basically, everything Lawrie has been spot on about the forum standpoint on this issue but just to clarify.
We DO NOT support the sharing of released PRR music on this forum, we DO NOT allow people to share the links for these things on this site, private message or otherwise. Sorry if you don't like it and sorry if it doesn't match your views on music sharing but that's not our problem. There are plenty of live torrents that haven't been released for you to download free of charge on here but if you want that one, you're going to have to pay for it, just as you will when album number 2 surfaces. These rules are made quite clear in the bootlegs part of the forum. As Lawrie said, we have the support of the band in return for our support and we would very much like to keep it that way, as I'm sure all of you will too.

I rarely buy albums that I've heard songs from. I like it to be new when I listen to it for the first time. Especially if it's bands I like.

Well maybe not Jon but the picture of Chloe inside is a different matter...KIDDIN! I don't care how loud the guitar is, the mixing here is INSANE! Really, it sounds amazing. Exactly how PRR should sound at its very best.
