Hi all,
Only recently back in the land of the living after last night's shindig. Still got that happy buzz from last night - I had a GREAT time and felt a lot more joy than I did sadness, strangely enough - going through the system at the moment. I'm not sure the gravity of last night will really kick in for me for a month or two yet, until I look at my upcoming gigs and remember that PRR aren't one of them and won't be again. That's gonna be a tough moment.
But in the meantime, I can't tell you all how much I enjoyed last night's show (which surely was their best ever, in terms of performance, sound quality and setlist), and equally how much I enjoyed spending time with you guys here who I consider great friends - some old, and some new (in person, at least!). We've had a great ****ing ride following PRR, and this won't be the end of it as we start to see developments from the new musical projects of the four Revolutionaries, not to mention the PRR Socials that WILL be happening going forward.
I had a blast, both last night and for the past 7 years, and I'm really glad you guys have all been there to share it too. Amor Vincit Omnia, and all that.

I'll be heading into London in two or three hours time, and will be finding the nearest pub to Heaven and camping there until doors open. I'm afraid my mobile is useless at the moment (stuck in old-number porting hell since yesterday after a recent move to GiffGaff as my mobile provider), so unless that changes later on this afternoon I guess it'll be a case of see you when I see you. Sure we'll all find each other (down the front!) of the venue. Laters Ambassadors.

Yup, agreed with BA on that. As someone who's purposefully only chosen to go to the London show so that it stays as special as possible, during the gig itself I'm going to want to have all my focus on the music and the performance, so I agree that something like a big banner or similar would be distracting. That said, I'd practically offer the life of my firstborn after the show to demonstrate how much I've appreciated the band and how much PRR will be missed.

I'm in for that, stick me down for a contribution towards the cost. I'm not working on Wednesday and will probably be getting into London nice and early, so will be available to meet for a beer or something prior to the show if anyone is about?

No Deus, MHX? Brave man, would've thought that Deus in particular would be down on every last AVO/H&A set wishlist out there!
Another hat in the ring for Never Divide though: I like your style! #catchychorusesforthewin

So ideal sets for the second half of the gig anyone? Lets say you can have seven songs plus two encore, only AVO and H&A tracks allowed, and of course Tempest if you choose. I'll say: Victorious Cupid Les Malheurs Valour Gloaming Apogee Blitzkrieg Open Insurrection --- Fight Fire Deus Cupid?! When you've only got a few non-TDT slots to play with? Sometimes, TDF, I do not get you at all... ;D Okay, so this is what I would go for: Blitzkrieg Open Insurrection Les Malheurs Never Divide Apogee Deus Ex Machina Fight Fire --- Tempest AVO The irreplaceables in that set being Blitzkrieg, Malheurs, Deus and AVO. For the others I can see arguments for and against their inclusion, but those four would definitely make up 4 of my top 6-7 PRR songs and would have to be in there at all costs. EDIT - I forgot about Tempest, added for the sheer uniqueness factor given that this tour will be the only ever chance to hear it live, albeit it would be a strong contender even if it had featured on AVO or H&A anyway for me. I have it replacing Black Mourning in my set, which is reluctantly benched from the limited selection we're making.

It all feels so final now no new music, tour nearly over and then this place will practically die... I've been thinking about that too, what will become of this place after the tour. All the members (to the best of my knowledge) have confirmed that they intend to remain musically active, and there's no place I'd rather be to discuss that. Who knows, with them all releasing solo stuff or joining other groups, there might actually be a lot more to talk about. lol I'm guessing it's too soon to be talking about a reunion tour/album. ;D Yet to speak with Admin about what will happen to these forums after November has passed, but I'd be surprised if we didn't open up some sub-forums to keep tabs on and discuss any new projects by Jon, Chloƫ, Jamie and Paul. That will be Admin's call (and she's currently away) to make though, and I'm sure we'll find out soon enough what plans there are for this place. IMO, it's too early to start talking about future projects: we've all got 1 month left to enjoy Pure Reason Revolution being active, so let's make the most of these last few weeks and see how things are looking after the Heaven show.

Tempest = <3, what a fine note to bow out on. In a way it's even more galling to see that the band were still capable of writing such fine music - they had a lot more left to give and the end has come way too soon. Nonetheless, it's a fine parting gift, and stands up as well as anything in the back-catalogue. Oh, and thank the band's management for the following: www.multiupload.com/TWEVO30PKS

Saw that too, and like it did with you, seeing the message brought the finality of this next month home a little bit more. It's all getting a little real now, isn't it?

Great news about the new song. Like Ryan says, it will be intriguing to hear exactly which musical direction it has headed in.
I'm still hoping against hope that the band might commission a DVD recording of the final show in London, but my head says it's highly unlikely.

I'm sure the WW1/WW2 connoitations of the above would be appreciated by Jon at least, TDF! ;D But yeah, I know what you mean, I haven't been hit this hard by a band splitting up since Hope Of The States called it quits completely out of the blue in 2006. There have been other bands whose music I've liked as much who have gone their separate ways (see The Music and The Streets, as per my earlier post), but the really gut-wrenching thing with PRR and HOTS is the sense of community I felt with both bands: the fans, the music and the bands themselves always made me feel like I belonged to something, and that I felt/feel I have lost something important in my life when those bands call it a day. As corny as it seems, I've also had a mantra going round in my head today relating to the end of PRR. Not as grandiose as Binyon's poem, but the closing refrain of Empty Cans by The Streets has fitted my mood today (nearly the same mood as the end of a relationship): "It's the end of something I did not want to end, Beginning of hard times to come. But something that was not meant to be is done, And this is the start of what was." Okay, I'll leave the cheesy lyric-stealing there, but on a positive note let's hope this really is the start of something else. Chloe tweeted today that the 4 band members all intend to pursue other musical avenues, so hopefully they will provide us with some of the same magical moments PRR served up over the past 8 years with their new projects, whatever they may be.

It's been a fun few years though eh? Damn fine band, damn shame. Absolutely, on both counts.

Got my London ticket now. Don't think I could stand to make another show in the run-up: I want the final hurrah to be special and feel like an Occasion with a capital 'O'. Seeing them play the same set that they'll be signing off with in London somewhere else a few days earlier would somehow spoil it for me, I think. Ironic, as if this hadn't been a farewell tour I think I would have made an effort to make several shows.
Still just a wee bit stunned here to be honest, not looking forward to the full realisation kicking in properly over the coming days.

Over and out. Gutted. Seen The Streets, The Music and now PRR split up this year: the bands who made my favourite records of the last 10 years will all be gone by the end of November. Really, really miserable.

I sincerely doubt that they would casually announce the dissolution of the band, like that. It likely just means they have no further shows planned, and because we're all a bit starved for news, we're blowing it all out of proportion, or fearing the worst. Lawrie all but confirmed that the band have some sort of future plans in this very thread, so I doubt there's cause for concern (although if he could throw us any more reassuring crumbs, I'm sure that would be most appreciated ). It is puzzling at just how low profile the band are though, and clearly they should be out there touring and promoting themselves. I imagine they must be rather non-plussed at how Super Ball have handled them. Does anyone know if they committed to producing a set number of albums for Super Ball? As I've said, I think they should just chalk this one down to experience, work on producing a stellar fourth album, and then get out as support act for as many bands as possible. All easier said than done I'm sure, but I really want to see the band moving forward and gaining new fans. I don't know anything else beyond the facts that the shows will be taking place in October/November as the band have already made public. No indication whatsoever of anything that lies beyond that, neither positive nor negative developments. Sorry to be no help, folks! Other than that I pretty much agree word-for-word with the rest of Butler's post, totally spot on opinion on the best road forward. Work on the 4th album and copious amounts of getting good support slots to increase the fanbase would be exactly what I'd like to see happen in the future. I hope it happens!
