Okay, we're going into (February) 2011 with this rather than 2010, but the two artists who I think were responsible for the best two albums of 2000-2009 have collaborated on a track together, and I couldn't be happier with the result: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vM_oLeiigSk&hd=1Utter, utter class - cannot wait for the new album now!

I'm also in the 2011 camp, being in the position of a confirmed 0-for-3 score in the pre-Christmas UK dates. On a tangent, and mainly to cheer me up from the prospect of missing the Scala, I went to see my other Reading faves A Genuine Freakshow in Leicester tonight and made sure to do some further lobbying for AGF to support PRR at a future gig. I know Jamie is super-keen on this happening and obviously for me it would be a musical perfect storm akin to Radiohead supporting R.E.M. down the road from me in Milton Keynes back in 1995. Talking to Tim and Simon from Freakshow, they are very much up for playing with PRR too and hinted that initial discussions had taken place, albeit nothing was agreed yet. Please, PLEASE let this happen! (Also, I highly recommend AGF's first support tonight - www.freecontrol.co.uk - as Simon AGF described them to me, they were a little like a mix of 65dos and Portishead: that should be enough to whet anyone's appetite!)

is this not available anymore? It was available for 24 hours on 11th November. Not sure exactly when they put it up, but it was before 5pm I think so it will have come down at some point before 5pm today.

^^ What Ryan said... But where does the name come from? Why is this forum called The Realm of Divine? Track 6 on The Dark Third is titled "(I) Voices In Winter (II) In The Realms Of The Divine".

Could you ask Jon if he is at all embarrassed by having padded out both AVO and H&A with such obvious 'filler' tracks? Hey look everyone, look! This guy doesn't like bits of some things! Look at him! Check him out! He wants to share his opinion with us in an unconstructive way! Let's give him his own thread! Haha, excellent riposte, Ryan! Really lame post, briggsy: do try harder in future.

Nice find, Dutch, cheers for posting. I actually think the Google translation wasn't too bad. It's certainly a lot more digestible than the equivalent translations I've seen when football stories from foreign publications like Marca/L'Equipe etc that you see on football message boards.

Ah, forgot we had a freakish anti-Batmanist on the boards...Admin, can't we get some kind of filter on the membership form to prevent them from joining? What's this, the anti-Batmanist IS an admin? Damn! I like Batman, and I think Begins and Dark Knight are perfectly solid films, The Dark Knight being my preferred movie of the two. It's just that the Nolan films are overrated in the canon: clearly the best Batman film was Tim Burton's "Returns" with Michael Keaton as Batman and Danny de Vito as The Penguin. Obviously the Nolan films are light years ahead of the terrible Batman & Robin with Arnie et al, but they're not ALL that - not even the best Batman films, let alone two of the best movies ever as IMDB would have you believe. I just rant on because they're more popular than I think they should be: bah humbugs all round! ;D Anyway, sorry all for hijacking what is supposed to be a PRR-related thread: as you were...

Ask him which is favourite out of Batman Begins and the Dark Knight. Now there's a question. Assuming Jon has excellent taste in movies, I can answer for him: he'd say that both films are okay-to-good, but nowhere near as brilliant as many people make out and that even Nolan's best film, Inception, was technically and intellectually excellent but was a bit lacking in the getting-an-emotional-response-from-an-audience department. He'd then go on to say that if you really wanted an impossible choice between excellent films, you'd be agonising over whether Park Chan-wook's Oldboy was better than Terry Gilliam's Brazil... but equally that you can't wait for the UK releases of future exploitation classics Machete (directed by Robert Rodriguez) and Hobo With A Shotgun (starring Rutger Hauer) in the coming weeks and months. That's definitely how he'd answer!

As much as I am for supporting smaller bands in any way possible, I've pre-ordered my copy of Heavy Sky from Amazon rather than from 65's website direct. Buying direct from 65's website costs you a £3.40 delivery charge on a £7 EP - absolutely fudging ridiculous! The EP is £4.99 on Amazon with free delivery - it's just no contest. And because I *do* try to support the bands I like wherever I can, I would've happily paid £7 direct to 65 rather than £4.99 to Amazon if the delivery charges hadn't been so excessive, but it appears they've gone for a flat rate delivery charge on the 65 site, so it's £3.40 no matter what you're buying. Fair enough if you're getting in one of the bundles that has loads of stuff in it, but if you just want the EP then you're looking at delivery charges of almost 50% of your net order cost. The band themselves will obviously have very-little-to-no say in how their label sets their pricing, but no matter who's to blame the end result is the same: some massive company is getting my cash and passing a small amount of it on to the band rather than the band getting the whole wedge, but as a punter you're left with very little choice unless you like getting mugged.

Blitzkrieg is mounting a challenge to Never Divide for my current favourite. The pop goodness of ND is *just* beating the electronic destruction of Blitzkrieg still, but it's close! The fact that they're next to each other in the tracklisting is doing my CD no favours: the same area of the disc must keep getting lasered over and over again...
Still loving every song though, this record is the musical version of Total Football - every song can do everything pretty damn well!

This might be a bit of an exclusive kind of post as it only really applies to those people who have the album in their hands already (and the special edition of the album including the DVD at that), but I didn't think the following was really a suitable post for the Album 3: The Verdict thread either.
So, on the DVD of the Hoxton gig, put your hand up if you can spot yourself looking like a total dick at some point or other. Valour was a particularly bad 5 minutes for more than a few forumites that I know of!
*raises hand*
*also sort of raises hand on behalf of blondeambassador, the dark fourth, AlExMachina and musecubed... you can decide your own level of dickishness, but spotted you most definitely were!*
Anyone else want to join the Hall of Shame?

Won't start a big discussion on this because this is a thread for Hammer And Anvil, but my take on The Exact Colour and Aeropause is that they are decent but unremarkable tracks; 6/10 songs that kept some 8-10/10 tracks (In Aurelia, Intention Craft, Nimos) off the [UK] album. Reasonable songs but a waste of a tracklisting berth considering which songs didn't make The Dark Third. Never really liked Cupid too much (other than the "If we die like this right now" part which is, to be fair, top notch) and I think most agree Disconnect was a well-intentioned mis-step but a mis-step nonetheless. All the usual IMO stuff though.
Anyway, wrong album for me to get chatting on... anyone else feeling my 'Never Divide is the best' vibes?
