One of your more gratuitous posts there, Mr Moderator....but yeah Paul is the rock king of PRR...always said so.

In regards to the 'carry away this severed head' thing, I'd like to see you try and fit in the word 'severed' into that line in time and make it sound right. My assumption is that the lyrics provided are the full lyrics, but are impossible to sing at times, so they shorten them down. Their lyrics, I suppose they can screw with them as they wish.
That said, I'm on board with the "ever learn" rather than "avalon" band wagon.

I always thought it was Avalon - so there! I suppose you have a point about Severed Head, but IMO that's the difference between lyrics/poetry and prose. It needs to fit with the singing. Otherwise for, say, a political song you could just write your entire manifesto and then only sing the bits "that sorta flow with the rhythm". I think it's a copout personally. Either it's important enough lyrically that they can find a way to slot it in, or leave it out if it's not worth it.

On a higher note, somebody (I don't know how) needs to post the album cover on the wiki page for AVO. It looks so empty without it. If I knew more about the album/editing pages I would do it, but I couldn't really figure it out, as I am a nub. You're not wrong, that coding is a mystery to me...there's me thinking 'oh I'll go and sort that out and prove my wonderfulness' but that really is a minefield I can't work out...so, clearly, we can be nubs together! Heh, yeah, it's not only the coding, it's mainly their rules that can drive you nuts. I added a page for the VC single last night and it was removed again within five minutes. Fortunately by some other huge PRR fan whom I had a nice chat with afterwards (and who explained to me why the page, unfortunately, had to be removed). Anyway, I've added the album cover for AVO, along with mentioning that the artwork was done by Chloe, in the hope that this will justify the use of a non-free image. (I spent most of the time reading stuff on what is and what isn't allowed under which circumstances.) So, keep your fingers crossed that no-one comes up with a good reason to throw the image out again...

Cool beans, it's still there so far. So I guess they're all right.

Yep, looks like they're happy with the rationale...

I am listening to Les Malheurs right now, and let me just say: This song is still so cool it gets me dancing in my seat.
In other words, still loving the album!

Yeah, Les Malheurs and AVO are the two standouts for me: LM for sheer funkyness and AVO for an epic sound!

So, here's how the individual songs have developed for me... (Mmmh, the forum software doesn't seem to like Google Charts URIs.) Anyway, I found that the songs have developed quite differently. Good thing is that none of them is getting worse. After the first listen I was kinda shocked: This was sooo different! I instantly liked Apogee and AVO, though, and Malheurs was just too good after a few repetitions. I didn't quite like the new Cupid mix at first. I was too used to the single version. This changed dramatically after I took the time to work through the lyrics, and I must admit that the new mix is much more appropriate. Gloaming was just boring to me. I don't know what exactly they did to my brain at the live show, but I was really into Gloaming after that. Meanwhile I'm even getting used to Disconnect, although the first minute is still hard. It's getting much better after that.

That graph could be the nerdiest thing I've ever seen...
Anyway, regarding Disconnect, does anyone else think that the vocoder voice says something about a giant biscuit towards the end?

That graph could be the nerdiest thing I've ever seen... Wow, if that's the nerdiest thing you've ever seen, I think I've got something more up my sleeve. Yup, it sounds a little like "giant biscuit" if you want to hear that. But I think hear "try and disconnect" -- "gi (try) - ant (and) - bis (dis) - cuit (connect)".

HA! That's really funny...I now hear giant biscuit every time. Classic.
