myspacemp3.org i have no idea what that site does, i don't know that it preserves more of the precious quality (shitty as it is) than recording through the sound card and i'm fairly sure you shouldn't go to it

Well I know a lot has been made of how great Deus is and how we all love the new 'direction' the band is taking, but I've been doing some thinking (brace yourselves) and I do believe we have greatly underestimated the sheer potential of what we could be coming.
I feel PRR going electronic could be one of the greatest steps forward musically since, well, since John Lennon met Paul McCartney. Never before has any band truly attempted to combine the excitement, interest, and power of electronic/industrial music with the lush and rich textures normally associated with 'prog' (PRR's traditional area of specialisation). The result of this fusion is, potentially, almost limitless, inasmuch as brilliance is concerned. Added to this, we know that PRR provide very capable hands for actually being able to write good music and well structured songs.
The wonder of Deus Ex Machina, therefore, is not so much in the song itself (amazing as it is) but in what it potentially represents for the future of music. This has got to be one of the most exciting moments musically speaking the industry has seen in a long time. It all depends on what Jon is doing in his bedroom right now.

Sorry, can't help you with the lyrics for Deus, can't imagine they'd be written down anywhere online or anything yet as it's only a demo at this stage. And kudos to anyone who can transcribe them: I have trouble keeping up even with the lyric booklets in TDT! On a sort-of-related tangent, I have total respect for the way that the band never drop even a single word during the faster parts of Trembling Willows [when they sing it live] - I know they wrote the thing, but damn that is some collective memory they all have to get every word out at that speed without singing the wrong line!

i am a naughty boy, and it is lots like being a deus ex machina... a really naughty boy like a deus ex machina. the little doggy laughed he was a furry chap and he looked like a candle in the hands of a deus ex machina. look into the hands of strangers cos they have a membraine that reminds me of a shiny trampolina... deus ex machina, deus ex machina the dark fourth makes me laugh, in every paragraph.... just like a double exhaust can on a ford cortina...

I think you need to step back a bit! Very good advice. Does anyone else ever get those moments when they perceive something really clearly, like they suddenly figure out something really important and they're SURE that they're correct... and then they write it down and when they come back, it looks so silly and they don't know how they could have thought it? No just me. At least it provoked harkins into a welcome return!

Hehe, everyone does that. Especially when bands release new stuff, there's a lot of 'omgz best thing in the world ever'. I've certainly done it. Hindsight being best an' all that.

Yes I think that about a lot of songs....
If I had loads of time I would sit down and listen to the song really carefully and painstakingly and get a copy of what I thought the lyrics were, then I'd see how close I was when they publish the real ones. I bet I'd be miles out.

We did it on the old forum for a couple of things and yes, we were hideously and in fact almost embarassingly out...even my previous guesses from the live version of Deus have already been proved wrong- what I'd heard as 'ocean' is definately 'altar' for a start! (There's definately something about altars and praying in there...not suprising given the title really.)
