Apologies for bumping the thread; but I had a crack at deciphering the lyrics to Deus Ex Machina. Some of the lines are bit iffy, but I'm certain I've cracked most of it. Props to James W for doing the balk of this though a few pages back!

Just a few quick points:

I think the first line is "Her narcissism, his foul mind, her promised love, deus ex machina."

I think it's "She sold him lies and raised a child who would believe."

I believe the chorus is "Did you feel love, did you ever burn, ever learn?"

At the end, I think it's "*something* vision with the cherubim and I will, revolution revelation and apocalypse."

Their lyrics are hard to pick out.

I still think "sodomised" is a long shot....though if it's right it would be very amusing

My gut feeling was that it was "her narcissism, his foul mind", but I saw James W's interpretation and was convinced otherwise.

I also thought it was apocalypse, but to me it didn't make sense. So I let my ears trick me...

I'm hoping it is sodomised, purely for the lulz (I'm still mentally 5).

Ahem yes it wasn't that particular image which would be the source of mirth, more the fact of how out of place it would sound in a love song, especially a PRR love song.

I think the last line is fairly clear-cut on that point. A dark love song, perhaps, even an angry love song, but still a love song. That's how it feels to me anyway.

Actually, on the subject of love, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the "concept" for album two. So far Deus, Apogee and Cupid all seem to be love-based, and I wouldn't be surprised if Malheurs or Gloaming were as well, once we see the lyrics. I'd say it's quite an unexpected concept for PRR, but I guess it keeps them in the Romantic vein. First dreams, then love, I predict album 3 will be about nature.

I'm with The Dark Fourth one hundred percent. The album definitely appears to be about love. Apparently, the yet-unheard track "Disconnect" brings back the "Did you feel love, did you ever burn, ever learn" motif.

So Tom Bellamy from the Cooper Temple Clause has done a remix of Deuz Ex Machina. Who'd of thought? He can't hate PRR that much! It's hard to know if this counts as decent exposure, or even desirable exposure, but I quite like it.
