I still can't believe how good the vocals are. On live bootlegs the vocals are normally the worst part, but here they sound just as good as studio stuff.

Golden Disco sounds like it has a quick fade-up on it to me, pretty sure something was done there. sounds good though, nice work all That one is all synth so it's easy to control that volume from the on-stage mixer near Jon.

" I think buying music that you've already heard most of to "make sure" you know you like it is just plain wrong, and it's all part of the same attitude that leads to rubbish being so popular and really good bands being unable to find their next meal. Why is it wrong? I don't want to spend my money on something that I don't like. And I don't see how being able to listen to albums for free before buying them makes rubbish bands popular. Wouldn't it make them unpopular if everyone heard that they're rubbish before they bought the cd?

Whats wrong with listening to a sample on itunes...I know it doesn't have everything but thats how I check to see if I like it, you can listen to 30 secs of each track, which surely should be enough to tell if you like it or not?

I've only listened once, but it sounded like it was crossfaded with what came before, because the audience noise kinda fades of oddly. Not fussed like, just saying.

Listen to the sample of the song Octavarium by Dream Theater (on the album of the same name) and tell me if you like the song These samples don't mean shit. Progressive fans should be on the frontline against iTunes and their 30-seconds-policy. Not trying to be offensive or anything, but if I was still stuck on the iTunes music store, I wouldn't be listening to beautiful stuff like Gazpacho, God is an Astronaut, Isis or even Pure Reason Revolution at the moment.

That's fine if it gives you enough to go on, but it's not right for a few genres, and not every band is on iTunes.

Not to take the opposite side in this little conflict, but last.fm probably has all the artists iTunes doesn't have, and also features 30-seconds-previews.

I've listened to this album 3 times today: once in the morning, once at work, and once after work hanging out with friends. It doesn't grow old. Everyone was amazed by the quality of the audio, one guy couldn't believe it was a live album, another guy actually seemed to be enjoying it even though he has a serious dislike of bootleg type music. The point was brought up multiple times by multiple people the we can't believe how "unpopular" or unknown PRR are. They are in my humble opinion, the best reminder of where rock has been in the past and how much more amazing it keeps getting as long as incredibly creative folks like PRR are putting their music out there. It's just been wonderful introducing this band to people. It's exciting.

I'm glad you're diggin' it! Do you mean live recordings in general? Because the PRR live album is not a bootleg by any means.

I do mean live music - it's a distinction I had to explain again and again.
